Bhavya hails from a family of musicians, she inherits music from her grandfather, the late Vidvan H.S. Krishnamoorthy, a senior and illustrious disciple of Aasthana Vidvan R.S. Keshavamurthy. She had initial training from her parents, Vidushi H.S. Susheela her mother who trained her on vocals, and her father, Vainika Hamsashri Vidvan H. K. Subbanna trained her on Veena.

Bhavya seeks advanced training from Ganakalabhushana Dr. R. K. Padmanabha, whose immense experience and knowledge shapes her into a successful Carnatic musician and performer alongside a teacher.

Bhavya began her performing career in 2008 and also have received national-level prizes for classical, light classical, and light music categories.
